Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - UW
WHEG - UW has committed 120.43% ($23,786,117) of its appropriation with 20,668 awards. This is 385
more awards and 11.23% more committed than at this time last year. In 2000-01 the program had
committed 109.20% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 2000-01 was 134.83%.
Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - WTC
WHEG - WTC has committed 147.82% ($20,149,374) of its appropriation with 23,671 awards. This is
2,415 more awards and 21.96% more committed than at this time last year. In 2000-01 the program had
committed 125.86% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 2000-01 was 171.72%.
Wisconsin Tuition Grant
WTG has committed 116.17% ($25,052,627) of its appropriation with 11,535 awards. This is 1,364 fewer
awards and 4.33% less committed than at this time last year. In 2000-01 the program had committed
120.50% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 2000-01 was 120.86%.
Status of Applicants
The number of applicants (first-time FAFSA filers including graduate students, non-degree students
and possibly non-Wisconsin residents) through October 15, 2001, for 2001-02 is 169,021. Applicants
for 2000-01 totaled 215,025.
