2017 Wisconsin Act 206 created the Dual Enrollment Credential Grant to assist high school teachers to meet the minimum qualification requirements of the Higher Learning Commission for eligibility to teach dual enrollment courses.
$500,000.00 is available annually with awards to be made to five categories:
Following each school year the school receives an award the school must submit a report to the board including – the number of high school teachers who received the grant; the total of postsecondary credits completed by high school teachers that were funded by the grant; and the number of high school teachers described under the first requirement who are minimally qualified to teach dual enrollment courses.
The program is currently scheduled to conclude June 30, 2021.
Applications are now being accepted. If teachers in your school incurred tuition expense for courses taken to meet the minimal qualifications necessary to teach dual enrollment courses, the school may apply for a grant to reimburse these costs. Coursework taken from Summer 2018 through Spring 2019 is eligible.
Applications are due by April 15th, 2019.
