Note: All revisions, updates and additions for the 2002-03 academic year have been made to the electronic Policy and Procedure Manual and are now available to you.

Points of Interest:

1. Federal LEAP/SLEAP funds have been received and deposited and therefore funds for the TIP grant are currently being vouchered.

2. The Wisconsin Tuition Grant Program commit percentage has exceeded 118%. In order to delay or avoid "W" coding or "Wait Listing" applicants for this program, please begin submitting "deletes from the notification list" for students who filed the FAFSA with your institution listed - however decided not to enroll/register. Also submit deletes for students who were never admitted to your school.

3. When submitting File Maintenance, please only submit selective service changes unless the submission has been reviewed by the Program Coordinator. If a submission has been reviewed and approved by the Coordinator, please label what type of change is being submitted.

4. Just a reminder that HEAB has the capacity to only bring in the first four schools listed on the FAFSA. Therefore, if your school is the fifth or greater school listed on the FAFSA, HEAB will not have your school listed for that applicant. Please submit a request directly to the Program Coordinator to manually adjust HEAB's student record to include your school's code if the applicant has decided to attend your institution and would like to be considered for Wisconsin assistance.

5. In September HEAB will be converting its PC Network System. This change should not be evident to you, however I am just making you aware that this change will occur.

Points Related to Processing:

2002-03

1. 2002-03 notification lists and associated reports are scheduled to run September 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th.

2. 2002-03 award commit and spent for WHEG and WTG are as follows:

   UW WHEG Award Commit	=	111.80%	(last year at this time it was 108.73%)
   UW WHEG Award Spent	=	18.25%	(last year at this time it was 16.44%)
   WTC WHEG Award Commit	=	145.39%	(last year at this time it was 117.07%)
   WTC WHEG Award Spent	=	25.56%	(last year at this time it was 20.48%)
   WTG Award Commit	=	118.24%	(last year at this time it was 110.73%)
   WTG Award Spent	=	24.04%	(last year at this time it was 22.51%)

3. The 2002-03 voucher (V) process began August 2, 2002. Vouchering occurs both Tuesday and Friday nights. Requests will be processed if they are received by 12NOON on either Tuesday or Friday.

4. TIP nomination forms can now be sent to John Whitt.

5. Beginning with the 2002-03 academic year, file maintenance will be accepted for the following items only:
   Professional Judgement changes
   Special Tuition
   Selective Service changes
   Special Circumstances
   Deletes
   If you have a situation that you believe is a special circumstance, please contact the program coordinator. ALL other changes must by made by submitting information to the federal processor. Please note that we are now accepting file maintenance for 2002-03.

1. The next training sessions will be held:
   September 19, 2002

   The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends no later than 3:00 p.m. It is held at the HEAB offices at 131 W. Wilson St, Suite 902, Madison, WI. We have room for up to 6 people at each session.
