Return of Funds: We are working on our "Return of Funds" policy at the recommendation of the Legislative Audit Bureau. There is a lot of confusion about our current policy, which I have included in full at the end of this memo. Our current policy begins with:

The problem is that schools are interpreting this in many different ways. Even within sectors, schools are treating student withdrawal funds differently. As stated earlier, we will be including Financial Aid Directors in the workgroup that clarifies this policy and makes it consistent throughout the state.

End of Emailed Notification Lists: Beginning May 1, we will no longer email notification lists - they will only be available on SECURE HEAB. Lists are available the day after processing, and are usually in your folders by noon. Files include a date, so you will be able to tell if it is a new file or one youíve already downloaded.

HEAB conducts one-day training programs for new and continuing financial aid administrators. The training session covers all aspects of the programs administered by HEAB, including:

The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends no later than 3:00 p.m. It is held at the HEAB offices at 131 W. Wilson St, Suite 902, Madison, WI. We have room for up to 6 people at each session.
