Madison - Executive Secretary Jane Hojan-Clark of the Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB) used the occasion of Education Week to formally thank Governor Scott McCallum for his support of post-secondary financial aid programs over the past 14 years. During the 14 years that Governor McCallum has served as Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Wisconsin has experienced significant increases in the dollar amount, number of recipients and the number of programs aimed at helping give all Wisconsin residents an equal opportunity to attend a UW System college or university, a Wisconsin Technical College or a Wisconsin private/independent college or university.
During the time Governor McCallum has served, the following has occurred:
Academic Excellence Scholarship
Minority Teacher Loan
Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant
Teacher Education Loan
Teacher of the Visually Handicapped Loan
Wisconsin Higher Education Grant for Tribal Colleges
In expressing her appreciation, Secretary Hojan-Clark said, "Governor McCallum should be recognized and applauded for his long term commitment to funding higher education. His support has been invaluable in ensuring that thousands of wisconsin residents had, and continuing to have, access to higher education."
